EDWARD L. TIMMES, CPA
Ed is a seasoned professional and the Managing Director and Founder of the firm. He brings diverse business experience including over 25 years of service in executive leadership roles. Throughout his career, he has been called upon for crisis and turnaround management and to lead transaction advisory teams.

CORPORATE EXECUTIVE, PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING & CONSULTING SERVICE ROLES:
Ed began his professional career with Coopers & Lybrand (PwC-predecessor), in NYC, where he gained extensive audit and internal control experience providing public and private company audit services, as well as financial advisory services. He was admitted as an audit and special services partner while practicing in Dallas, where he had responsibility for launching the Business Investigation, M&A, and Litigation Support practices. Ed returned to the New York office to lead several high profile international bankruptcy matters. In addition to successfully leading several Financial Advisory Services practices he also served on the Partner Admissions Committee for NY-Metro before leaving the firm to lead a client’s global acquisition program.
Ed has served domestic and international companies gaining extensive operations knowledge in the Manufacturing, IT Managed Services, Financial Services, and Energy industries.
His international experience includes leading many global M&A diligence and post-acquisition integration projects, as well as bankruptcy and independent investigation matters. He has the distinction of being called upon as a consulting and testifying expert, in the UK and in the USA, in both state and federal court, on business valuation, reorganization, fraudulent conveyance, and economic damage matters.
As an audit partner and financial executive, Ed has also gained in-depth experience with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) IPO registrations and related reporting matters, as well as driving timely execution of post-acquisition integration and corporate turn-around situations, the resolution of dispute matters, and negotiations of business process outsourcing contracts.
Ed returned to providing independent professional consulting and advisory service when, in 2006, he formed TCE Associates Consulting, LLC. At TCE he and his leadership team continue to serve acquisitive private equity firms and their portfolio companies, lenders, public and private companies in transition, and boards of directors of under-performing businesses.
He currently serves as an advisor or Advisory Board member to several start-ups (in NY, NJ, and MA) and as a board member on the Board of Directors of MAPFRE–USA and Commerce Insurance Company where he is a member of the audit and investment committees.
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Ed received a Bachelor of Science – Accounting Degree from State University of New York at Albany, earning his degree in three years. Shortly thereafter he earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) NY State license and later Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designations.
Ed is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and Financial Executives International (FEI).

Scott H. Hill, CPA
Scott brings over 35 years of diverse international public accounting firm and private practice experience providing business assurance, financial reporting and consulting services in a wide variety of industries. Scott’s extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting has become an invaluable resource in the current financial environment and he often interfaces with companies’ external assurance firms to achieve the required objectives.

Scott has served as an interim-project-executive and consultant to numerous public and private companies involved in acquisitions, roll-ups and divestitures, experiencing crisis situations, in time critical financial reporting situations, undergoing SEC investigations and restatements, implementing SOX and implementing or applying complex accounting rules to specific transactions. Prior to joining TCE, Scott held positions in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLPs’ Global Capital Markets Group and Coopers & Lybrand’s Audit and Assurance Group.
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant and resides in California.

Robert Barela, MBA, CPA, CGMA
Robert brings over 25 years of industry and international management experience to augment TCE’s service line delivery. He has served in senior management roles, primarily in international locations, providing Finance, Accounting, and Assurance services to in-country business executive teams and / or their Boards across various businesses and financial regimes.

Robert brings the CFO’s perspective, working with external auditors and regulators, to ensure compliance with domestic and international laws and regulations. He has demonstrated success improving financial reporting and analysis processes. Robert has developed and implemented Management Reporting and Internal Control systems to ensure business performance. He has also successfully optimized Finance team operations by migrating them to more standardized and/or shared-service rstructures, systems, and processes.
Prior to joining TCE, Robert worked for BP and ARCO around the world. He resides in Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Robert earned his MBA at University of Denver and, BBA from University of New Mexico.
